If you have a BDO bank account and want to top up or add funds to your Maya wallet, we’ve put together a step-by-step guide on how to transfer money from BDO to Maya. Maya (formerly PayMaya) is a one-stop financial app. This platform combines the functions of a digital wallet, a digital bank (Maya Bank), and investment features. Maya can be used for QR code payments in stores, online shopping, bill payments, mobile phone top-ups, and national and international money transfers.
Send Money From BDO to Maya Using the Mobile App
You can use the Send Money feature in the BDO Online mobile app to send money from BDO Unibank (Banco de Oro) to Maya. This process will instantly transfer the funds. Here are the steps:
First, open the BDO Personal Banking app and log in using your user ID and password.
On the first page, tap the “SEND MONEY” tab at the bottom of the screen, then select “To Another Local Bank.”
In the selection field, tap the destination bank or search for Maya Philippines, Inc. (or Maya Wallet).
Then, enter the amount you wish to send and enter the correct account information. For example:
- Account Number (Enter the 11-digit mobile number registered to the destination Maya account)
- Fill in the full name of the recipient and the owner of the Maya account.
Confirm the transaction using the One-Time PIN (OTP) sent via SMS or automatically generated via the OTP Generator in your BDO app. Review the transaction summary and complete the payment. You will receive an SMS notification or proof of transfer if the funds have been successfully transferred.
Transfer Money From BDO to Maya Through the BDO Online Banking Website
Another way to send money from BDO to Maya is using your web browser. You can also use the web if you don’t have the BDO Mobile app. Mobile browsers will still work, but keep in mind that the BDO online banking website is not responsive, so you may have to scroll a lot. Here are the steps:
Visit the BDO online banking website and log in to your account. Once logged in, click “Send Money” in the left navigation menu and select “To Another Local Bank.”
Select “Continue without a template” or choose a saved template if you have one. Click “Next.”
Enter or select your sender and recipient details, such as:
- Settlement Type: The default option is “Credit to Another Local Bank”
- Transaction Type: The default option is “Credit to Another Bank”

- If you want to save this information for future use, check “Save as New Template.”
Double-check all your transfer details to ensure there are no errors. Then, click Submit.
You will then be asked to enter the one-time password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number with BDO. Enter the OTP and click “Submit.”
If you don’t receive the OTP after 5 minutes, click the “One-Time Password” link to generate a new one.
Note: InstaPay network standard transfer fee is ₱10 to ₱25 per transaction depending on the latest BDO terms.
That concludes our brief tutorial on how to send money from BDO to Maya (PayMaya). If you entered incorrect information, such as an incorrect account number, BDO will refund the total amount, including service fees, to your account within 1-2 business days.
If your recipient doesn’t receive the funds within 24 hours, contact Maya Customer Service and provide your transaction reference number for faster processing.
