Understanding Your Globe Modem Interface
Before diving into specific methods, it’s important to familiarize yourself with your Globe modem interface. Regardless of your specific model, most Globe modems offer a web-based interface accessible through a web browser. Here’s how to access it:
- Connect a device (laptop, phone, etc.) to your Globe WiFi network.
- Open a web browser on your device.
- In the address bar, type the default gateway address for Globe modems, which is usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.254.254.
- A login page will appear. Enter the default username and password for your Globe modem. These are typically printed on a label on the back of your modem. If you’ve changed them previously, use your custom credentials.
How to Block a WiFi User in Globe
This guide explores two effective methods to block a WiFi user in Globe:
- Method 1: Blocking a WiFi User in Globe (MAC Address Filtering)
- Method 2: Changing Your WiFi Password
Method 1: Block a WiFi User in Globe (MAC Address)
Please note that to use this method you must have administrator privileges for your Globe WiFi network. This requires you to know the username and password for your Globe admin dashboard.
1. Using a web browser such as Google Chrome and while connected to your Globe WiFi network, type 192.168.254.254 in the URL or address bar.
2. Then click the “Login” link at the top right of the page.
3. Enter your username and password for your Globe admin dashboard. Then click the “Log In” button. For default username is user and default password is @l03e1t3.
4. Once you enter the admin panel, click “Advanced” in the top navigation bar.
5. On the left navigation menu, please go to “Security” and click “Device Management.”
6. Now you can see a list of devices connected to your WiFi, along with their IP addresses, host names, and MAC addresses.
7. Select the device (PC, laptop or smartphone) that you want to block by clicking “Block“.
8. Be careful not to block your own device. Some wireless devices such as routers may also appear in the list and you may have unknowingly blocked them. As an extra precaution, you can first determine the MAC address of your device to avoid being blocked. This article will teach you how to find out the MAC address of a device.
9. After that, a confirmation dialog will appear with the message, “Add this user to the blacklist?” Click “OK.”
10. The device is now blocked from being able to connect to your Globe WiFi network. After blocking a device, all devices connected to the WiFi will be temporarily disconnected. Don’t worry because all unblocked devices will reconnect soon.
111. You can block as many users or WiFi devices as you want. You can see the list of blocked devices in the “Blacklist” section.
12. Meanwhile, to unblock a device, simply click “Delete” next to the device.

Method 2: Changing Your WiFi Password
Pros: This method is quick and easy to implement. It affects all currently connected devices and prevents unauthorized users from reconnecting without the new password.
Cons: All authorized devices will also need to be reconnected with the new password.
Steps to Change Your WiFi Password on Globe:
- Access your Globe modem interface as described above.
- Navigate to the “Wireless” or “WiFi” settings section. This may vary slightly depending on your modem model.
- Locate the field for “SSID” or “Network Name.” This is the name that appears on your WiFi list when searching for networks.
- Change the SSID to a new, unique name. It’s recommended to avoid using personal information in the name.
- Locate the field for “WPA2 Pre-Shared Key” or “Password.” This is the password required to connect to your WiFi network.
- Create a strong password for your WiFi. Here are some tips for creating a strong password:
- Use a combination of upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.
- Avoid using personal information like birthdays or names.
- Aim for a minimum password length of 12 characters or more.
- Important: Re-enter the password for confirmation.
- Click “Save” or “Apply” to save your changes.
Your Globe modem will now restart, and all connected devices will be disconnected. You and your authorized devices will need to reconnect using the new SSID and password. Remember to update the WiFi password on all your devices (laptops, phones, smart TVs, etc.) for continued internet access.
Other Ways To Block a Device on a Network
- Disable Dual Band Wi-Fi: While not a direct block, this can sometimes reduce the number of devices connecting to your network. However, it might impact the performance of devices that prefer one band over the other.
- Set Up a Guest Network: This is an excellent way to provide internet access to visitors without compromising your main network.
- Set Time Limits: Some routers allow you to set time limits for specific devices or the entire network, which can be useful for controlling access.
- Delete Wi-Fi password on the device: This is effective for preventing a specific device from reconnecting automatically.
Additional Tips for Securing Your WiFi Network
While changing your WiFi password and blocking specific devices are effective methods, here are some additional tips to enhance your network security:
- Use a Strong Encryption Protocol: Ensure your WiFi network is using the strongest encryption protocol available, typically WPA3. This provides a higher level of security compared to older protocols like WEP or WPA.
- Disable SSID Broadcast: This option hides your WiFi network name from appearing on the list of available networks. While not a foolproof method, it can deter casual intruders.
- Regularly Update Your Modem Firmware: Keeping your modem’s firmware up-to-date ensures you have the latest security patches and fixes.
- Limit Guest Access: If your modem allows for guest network access, consider disabling it unless you have specific needs for it.
- Use a Firewall: A firewall can provide an additional layer of protection for your network by filtering incoming and outgoing traffic.
