What is Pag-IBIG MP2?
Unlike the regular Pag-IBIG contribution, which is mandatory for workers, MP2 is an additional option for those looking to increase their investment value. Pag-IBIG MP2 is also guaranteed by the government. Your principal deposit is 100% guaranteed, so the risk of losing your money is very low.
Furthermore, all profits or dividends you earn from this program are not subject to income tax.
Because it provides returns (dividends) that are typically much higher than conventional bank deposit interest, this program is highly sought after due to its very low risk profile due to the government guarantee. The government uses MP2 savings funds to provide housing loans to local communities.
